Academy U18 Top 10: Feb. 14

The undefeated New York Red Bulls top the ESR Development Academy Under-17/18 rankings for the 2012-13 season.

ESR will update the Development Academy every other week through the rest of the Academy season.

NOTES: As the lone remaining undefeated Development Academy Under-17/18 team, the Red Bulls have certainly earned the top ranking on the field. The team pinned the only loss on No. 2 LA Galaxy as Alex Muyl scored both goals in a 2-1 win. Top Scorers: Alex Muyl 10 goals, Ismar Tandir 8 goals. Next: March 2 at South Central Premier.

NOTES: PDA has three shutouts in its last five matches with keepers Eric Gutierrez and Michael Renna each part of two. Top Scorers: Max Kroschwitz 7 goals, Alec Neumann 6 goals. Next: March 2 vs. Virginia Rush.
3 Albertson SC 9-1-3 4
NOTES: Albertson, whose only loss is to the Red Bulls, has six shutouts this season and has surrendered only eight goals in 13 matches. Top Scorers: Santiago Moore 5 goals. Next: March 9 vs. Red Bulls.
4 LA Galaxy 9-2-2 2
NOTES: Nathan Smith, Sebastian Velasquez and Jaime Villarreal each scored as Galaxy bounced back from a loss to Real Sol Cal with a 3-2 win over San Juan SC. Top Scorers: Justin Dhillon 5 goals, Jack McBean 5 goals. Next: Feb. 16 vs. Vancouver Whitecaps.
5 Real Salt Lake-AZ 9-2-3 5
NOTES: Jose Navarro has scored three goals in Real Salt Lake’s last two outings, and the wins have put them percentage points ahead of the Galaxy in the division race — despite a loss to the Galaxy earlier in the season. 9 Houston Dynamo 10-3-3 10
NOTES: The Dynamo made amends for an earlier loss to the Dallas Texans with a 2-0 win over its division rival last week. Irvin Ramirez and Jose Rodriguez scored second-half goals to carry the team. The big news this past week was that Bryan Salazar had agreed to terms to sign with the Dynamo professional team. Top Scorers: Bryan Salazar 9 goals, Carlos Ibarra 7 goals.
